There’s something about a sign that holds more than just a name—it carries history.

This 11x14 Acrylic on Canvas Original Painting captures the iconic Diamond Grille sign, a true Akron landmark. I painted this piece  while reminiscing with my wife about family memories—especially the places my parents loved. Diamond Grill was always one of those spots.

The patina, the glow, the wear… it all tells a story. Not just of a restaurant, but of a city and the people who’ve passed through it. For many, Diamond Grille is part of their Akron story—whether it’s family dinners, celebrations, or even visits from professional golfers over the years. And somehow, that sign has become just as memorable as the experiences inside.

I wanted this piece to feel like that memory—layered, textured, and alive.
